Frequently Asked Questions about Rajasthan

The best time to visit Rajasthan is during the winter months, from October to March. The weather is pleasant and ideal for sightseeing, desert safaris, and exploring the forts and palaces. Summers (April to June) are extremely hot, and the monsoon season (July to September) can be humid.

The most popular cities are Jaipur (the Pink City) for its palaces and vibrant markets, Udaipur (the City of Lakes) for its romantic scenery, Jodhpur (the Blue City) for the Mehrangarh Fort, and Jaisalmer (the Golden City) for its desert landscape and camel safaris.

A desert safari experience in Jaisalmer or Bikaner is included in many of our longer Rajasthan tour packages. This typically includes a camel ride on the sand dunes to watch the sunset, followed by a cultural program with folk music, dance, and a traditional dinner.

For a winter trip, pack light woolens, jackets, and shawls as the nights can be chilly, especially in the desert. During the day, light cotton clothes are comfortable. It's also advisable to carry a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen to protect yourself from the sun.
