Your trek begins from McLeod Ganj or the nearby village of Dharamkot. The 9 km trail starts from the Gallu Devi Temple and is a gradual ascent with panoramic views of the Kangra Valley. After a 4-6 hour hike, you'll reach the stunning Triund meadow. Check into your camp, relax, and witness a magical sunset over the Dhauladhar peaks. Enjoy a bonfire, dinner, and an overnight stay in your tent.
Wake up early to witness a breathtaking sunrise painting the mountains in golden hues. After breakfast, spend some time soaking in the tranquil beauty of the meadow. Later, begin your descent back to McLeod Ganj. The trek concludes as you reach the starting point, leaving you with amazing memories and stunning photographs.

The best seasons for the Triund trek are from March to June (spring/summer) and from September to December (autumn/winter). The trek is often closed during peak winter months like January and February due to heavy snowfall.
The Triund trek is rated as easy to moderate, making it one of the most popular treks for beginners. The trail is well-defined. The last one-kilometer stretch, known as the "22 curves," is a bit steep but is manageable for anyone with a basic level of fitness.
The facilities at the Triund summit are very basic. Dry pit toilets in tented enclosures are usually set up by campsite operators. Please do not expect modern, concrete washrooms.
